HISTORY

Siphiwe Tom started boxing as an amateur when he was 8 years old. In 2000 he won his first silver medal in the national championships. In 2001 he won a gold medalist at the national championships and in 2002 he won the kadett boxer of the year. In 2007 Tom started his professional career where he fought four fights and became a "national baby champ". In 2011 he fought twice for the SA title and then retired from his boxing career in 2014 and decided to be an assistant coach for Mzonke Fana, who was a former two times world champion. Tom also became a licensed professional coach and has lead many of his professional boxers to international and continental titles. He also produced a an ABU SADEC champion and WBF african champion. As his career as a professional trainer he worked at many gyms around Cape Town. In 2018 he received the opportunity to open his own gym, shadow box, that is currently situated in Strand.
